Operational Risk Management

  • Order-to-Cash Operational Risk Mitigation: Directed several initiatives on an Energy trading and billing process to reduce operational/transactional risks formed by disparate legacy or new IT systems as well as silo-ed Front- and Back-Offices. De-facto liaison between the IT department and the Contracting, Trading and Accounting departments.

  • Commodities and Derivatives Trading Risk Mitigation: Implemented and enhanced risk management policies and procedures for the trading floor, utilizing trade capture and settlement systems reporting as well as manual procedure updates.




Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance

  • IT Systems Analysis and Testing: Audited systems and defined development requirements in order to comply with Sarbanes Oxley 404 and internal guidelines. Drafted risk policy changes and designed systems' control testing plans.

  • Financial Reporting Process Compliance: Examined processes and designed changes needed to comply with Sarbanes Oxley 404. Planned and executed testing plans to demonstrate compliance, working closely with internal and external auditors.



Business Planning and Performance Measurement

  • Business Planning and Process Improvement: Coordinated the efforts to redesign a business planning process in order to align disparate, lower level business units. Designed the cascading of the strategy and key performance indicators, facilitated workshops and published Intranet content.

  • Strategy and Performance Measurement: Guided the development and implementation of strategic refinement and articulation of goals, objectives and performance measures using the Balanced Scorecard methodology and Enterprise Portal technology.

  • Knowledge Management Software Deployment: Led the implementation of a Plumtree Software business intelligence portal, performing "design partner" role on the deployment, from inception and user requirements' gathering, RFP direction and negotiation, project planning and proof-of-concept, to internal selling and roll-out.

  • Business Plan Preparation: Prepared business plan for a manufacturing and import business to position it for acquisition.

  • Business Planning and Marketing: Provided clients with market research, competitive and cash flow analysis and formed feasibility studies. Performed contract negotiations and developed advertising agency collateral guidance.



Restructuring and Process Improvement

  • Management Reporting Process Improvement: Managed a financial and operational reporting accuracy initiative, through meticulous understanding of underlying data and models, across several departments.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Project Management: Point-Person for teams of engineers, architects and contractors, on a variety of projects at a commercial real-estate marketing firm.

  • Supply Chain Improvement: reduced expensive inventories by analyzing and developing tools and action plans for cost-containment at an Oil and Gas exploration joint venture.

  • Shared Services Restructuring: Administered a workload upturn initiative by means of analysis of activity value - mission, activity and end-product evaluation – that led to organizational transformation and SG&A cost reduction.



Start-Up Business-Case Development and Venture Capital Due Diligence

  • Start-up Business Case Development: developed use-cases for entrepreneurs raising funds to develop technology solutions for the compliance and risk management marketplace. Benchmarked against existing vendors/competitors.

  • Venture Capital Due-diligence: Provided leading Venture Capital firms with research and recommendations regarding investment opportunities in Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) and Business Process Management (BPM) software offerings.
